Nanotech West / NanoSystems Lab Annual Safety Retraining Program Begins

[This is an online repeat of an email that all users should have received today]

All users of Ohio State Nanotech West Lab and the NanoSystems Lab:

Annual Safety Retraining for all users in the Columbus area begins next week.

This year we are offering two options. If you are a user who attended a full hour session last year, you have the option of attending a shorter, roughly 30 minute session this year. If you did not receive the training last year, however, you are required to attend a full hour session. Note that the last 3 sessions that are currently on the calendar are full hour sessions, so if you are an experienced user don’t wait too long.

a) Consult the attached calendar (which will also be posted in the NTW WWW pages under News) and select a session. We are offering numerous sessions both in campus in Scott Lab and at Nanotech West. Be prepared to select a back-up session if your session is full. The calendar listings also indicate the maximum capacity of the location (e.g., E100 Scott Lab can hold 75 attendees).

b) Contact the front desk of Nanotech West either by email (nanotech@osu.edu) or by phone at 688-3055, and get registered for a session.

c) Before the session, review the MSDS sheets and safety documents relevant to your work. For Nanotech West they are available online through the scheduling system.

d) Attend your session. Take part in the discussion and ask questions. Be on time. If you are considerably late we reserve the right to require you to reschedule.

e) At the latter part of the session please sign the document indicating that you have attended and have reviewed your safety documents.

If you are a user who is not in the Columbus area, please contact NTW or NSL staff in advance of your next visit so that we can schedule a session for you.

If you have any questions contact myself, John Carlin, or Paul Steffen for NTW or Denis Pelekhov for NSL.

We thank everyone in advance for making NTW and NSL models of safety on the Ohio State Campus.
