Nanotech West is pleased to announce that it has been named to the Laboratory Safety Dean’s List by OSU’s Department of Environmental Health and Safety. NTW, like all labs at OSU, receives an annual site inspection to review physical, chemical and biological safety. Areas of compliance review include staff and user training, documentation including SOPs, updated chemical hygiene plan and signage, physical and chemical safety controls, safety equipment maintenance and PPE, etc. A complete audit inspection checklist can be found on EHS’s website at: https://ehs.osu.edu/sites/default/files/lab_inspection_checklist.pdf. A Dean’s List rating is awarded for a finding of “no items of concern” during the site inspection. As a diverse user research facility it is only through the continuous efforts of Nanotech’s staff and users that the lab was able to achieve this safety standard in 2018. Way to go!
