Click here to start the process to become a Nanotech West Lab user.

After receiving your information, we will send you forms to complete and instructions for online training.
The following summarizes the process:

  • A new user form with contact and billing information is signed by lab user, financial administrator, and principal investigator.
  • The new user completes 7 online OSU EHS safety classes.
  • The new user completes two Nanotech West online safety classes (video presentation and quiz for each).
  • The new user reviews safety orientation specs (basic building and lab room specific)
  • For OSU Employees Only: the new user completes OSU occupational risk assessment online (if not already done).
  • The new user watches the Basic Building orientation video.
  • An in-person orientation tour of lab rooms the new user will use is completed.

The training may seem long but represents our commitment to a safe lab for people and equipment.

Accepted projects incur staff support charges in addition to tool use and lab entry fees. A completed Project Form is required before beginning work.
