Dave Hollingshead joined the Institute for Materials Research’s Nanotech West Lab as a research associate supporting the Ohio Third Frontier OSSIP program in 2014. He has served as a senior research associate of IMR’s technical staff and manager of the Mid-Infrared Imaging Characterization & Application (MICA) lab at Nanotech West since 2017. He has extensive experience in semiconductor device fabrication, electro-optic and structural characterization, and process development covering a wide range of topics including infrared devices, Si and III-V materials, and photovoltaics. Dave’s primary responsibilities include working in collaboration industrial and academic partners in the OSU materials research community to design, manage and conduct research projects. As a member of the technical staff, his additional responsibilities include support of NTW’s cleanroom operations and its users including development and characterization of new techniques and capabilities.
Before joining Nanotech West, Dave spent three years working with Replex Plastics of Mount Vernon, Ohio, as a project engineer. While at Replex, he was responsible for new product development as well as research efforts including low-cost mirror augmented photovoltaic technologies, concentrating mirror applications and commercial daylighting.
Dave holds both a B.S. degree (2009) and an M.S. degree (2011) in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The Ohio State University.
