Dr. Xulang Zhang is a postdoctoral researcher with the NSF-sponsored NSEC center and is also an Associate Staff Member at the OSU Nanotech West Laboratory. She has overall responsibility for the tissue and cell culture activities in the Biohybrid Laboratory.

Dr. Zhang received her undergraduate degree in Medicine from the Dalian Medical University in China in 1998. After working in the FUXIN hospital for one year she pursued her M.S. degree in Obstetrics and Gynecology, receiving it from Dalian in 2002. She subsequently began doctoral studies in Biochemical Engineering at the Chinese Academy of Science, receiving her Ph.D. in 2006.
