Dr. Guan is a postdoctoral researcher in Center for Affordable Nanoengineering of Polymer Biomedical Devices and is also a staff member at the MicroMD Laboratory. He received his Bachelor and Master degrees in Metal Physics at University of Science and Technology Beijing, and MS in Biophysics and PhD in Biomedical Engineering at The Ohio State University. Dr. Guan has extensive experience in material processing and characterization, with a specialty in polymer micro- and nanofabrication for biomedical applications. He recently developed a novel approach for creating highly order DNA nanowires over millimeter-scale area, a technique that may be used for biomedical analysis/diagnosis and nanoelectronics. Dr. Guan is also intersted in creating well-defined, multifunctional nanoparticles for gene delivery via manipulation of individual DNA molecules.
