Derek Ditmer became a member of the OSU Nanotech West technical staff in 2003. He graduated first in his class from DeVry University with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology. While at DeVry, Derek gained lab experience from the lab-based classes and assisting the physics department in designing experiments using National Instruments Labview software.

At OSU Nanotech West Derek has extensive responsibilities ranging from the photolithography areas to materials and device characterization. He is the primary contact for photolithography bay operations including wafer bonding and micro- and nanoembossing (“soft” lithography). In addition he is the primary contact for operation of the Asylum bioAFM, and the Hitachi S-3000 scanning electron microscope.

Derek also serves as overall IT coordinator for Nanotech West.
